Recently, I had been to Gangtok and Nathu La. By fight fm cochin to chennai, chennai to kolkata, kolkata to bagdogra and then by road to siliguri and fm there by road to Gangtok, the capital of sikkim which took 4 hrs from Siliguri by Tata Sumo.

Enjoy the fours hours' drive , just greenery around and the air so pure and unpolluted. Though I reached Gangtok after 2 days' travel, didnt feel tired at all.Checked into a hotel at Tadong. Incidentally, it's summer there, but the breeze is very cool and invigorating.

The next day went on 10 point sight seeing in Gangtok. Went toShanti Point from where one can see the entire gangtok, It was really picturesque and breath taking. Then went to the famous Rumtek Monastery. It'a a fair climb from where one can park one'svehicle. The monastery is quite big, where you can the buddhist monks of all ages, engaged in all kinds of activities right from cleaning the floors with broom sticks.Inside the prayer hall, chanting was going on in all ernestness. The atmosphere was quite calm and serene. Then I went to the botanical gardens where u can find different varieties of orchids. On our way back, saw the water supply system in gangtok done very scientifically. There was small waterfalls, coz of the snow melting from the kanchenjunga.Went to the Tashi view Pont the view from where is beyond words.Went on the ropeway and the ride was really wonderful. Went to Hanuman Tok, a hanuman temple on top of a hill abt 9000 feet above the sea level.there was a sudden hailstorm. In between had been to the museum where a lot of buddhist days' artifacts are preserved well. Had been to the Handi crafts emporium too.

On the 2nd day went to Changu Lake with blue waters. Yaks were ready for riding. Went to Nathu La.Snow clad Kanchenjunga was really beautiful. Climbed to the top at 16000 ft above the sea level. Though it was very cold and less oxygen in the air, the experience was unparallelled.Had I just crossed the fence ,i could have gone to the ChineseMilitary Outpost.

On the way back, went to baba mandir. The entire place is well maintained and really beautiful.

Had to return on the 3rd day with a heart full of fond memories and with a healthy mind and body. The pure air and the terrain with a ot of ups and downs really tones up the body and mind. I'm sure that the people living there will be free from all diseases.

A lot of snaps are there in my album. I am planning to go to north sikkim which is supposed to be the most beautiful. I would advise all to isit Sikkim, otherwise u will be missing something in ur life
